I had a wonderful dinner here with my husband on a recent visit to Chicago, and
the food and service were so outstanding that I met a friend here for lunch a few
days later. Dishes are visually stunning and have great flavor to match. Best of
all, the prices are extremely reasonable.
Cutest Thai Restaurant w/ Awesome Food
-by xopineapple71890xo at Citysearch-
I went here with a group of friends on a Friday night and we were so impressed! First, the decor was delightful and romantic. The bright cheery orange of the walls and the multi-colored paintings were offset by dim candles flickering on every table and twinkling lights. The food did not disappoint either! The portions were not huge, but that isn't a problem, considering every other pan-Asian restaurant gives waaay too much for any one person to handle. I would recommend the Pad Thai, personally, because it was so delicious that everyone started eating it off of my plate. Other group favorites were the Orange Chicken, Garlic Noodles, and Beef Salad. Stay away from the Golden Curry, however, because it tasted like pumpkin soup. Other than that, I definitely advise paying Summer a visit!
Literally a step away from the Granville stop on the Red Line in Rogers Park, Summer is the perfect place to enjoy Thai and Pan-Asian fares. At Summer, you'll find everything from traditional curry and stir-fried noodle dishes on the menu, to the deliciously unique Scallop Dynamite and Panang Salmon. We hope that you enjoy many memorable dining experiences with us. - Menu Pages
Some noodle and rice shops are dives, but this Edgewater cutie isn't one of them. A sleek, modern space that opened in October 2007, the BYOB pan-Asian eatery was purposefully named to put smiles on the faces of down-trodden, winter-weary neighborhood folks. Literally a step away from the Granville stop on the Red Line, Summer is the perfect place to grab takeout on your way home, but the warm orange and white interior may inspire you to lose the coat and stay a while. If you can take the heat, go for the Spicy Basil stir-fried with fresh basil, green beans, onions and bell pepper in a chili garlic sauce. You'll find the usual curry and stir-fried noodle dishes on the menu, but unique items such as the Scallop Dynamite or Panang salmon spice things -- literally. Metromix
